The hotel in the woods (or better: “on” them)
In the forest in the tiny village of Harads, in municipality of Boden, far north of Sweden, one stunning tree hotel is located. Designed by Inredningsgruppen it resembles – what else – a bird’s nest. The hotel combine innovative modern design with ecological thinking in order to find new ways of valuing the vast Swedish forest. Opened in July, 2010, the Bird’s Nest consists of only six “rooms” each designed by a different architect to be completely unique. Each independent of the others, six different nests, each with its distinctive feature and its architecture.

The Cabin, A Room With A View, The Blue Cone, the Bird’s Nest, The Mirror Cube and the UFO. The Mirrorcube is a prefabricated cube accessed via a ladder that runs straight up from the ground into the heart of the unit. This concept is based upon the contrast between exterior and interior. From the outside it appears as a big nest, only the scale separating it from other nests in the vicinity but inside it’s a high standard room with modern design. There’s a pretty awesome-looking sauna, and organised activities around the area. Designed with the help of 6 well known designers and architects, the Treehotel team have turned their idea of unique treehouses, created in harmony with nature and their ecological values, into reality.

Rooms at the Tree Hotel are 350-400 a night peer room.
